The Installation Process
For large-scale military and commercial kennel projects, we use a robust groundworks system designed to maximise long-term performance.
The process began with a solid free-draining base:
- A layer of 20mm clean limestone was installed first
- This was followed by a compacted layer of 6mm clean limestone to create a smooth and stable surface
A proflow grid system was then fitted over the base. This elevates the turf, accelerates drainage, and makes routine cleaning significantly more effective, particularly important in compounds that see constant daily use.
Once the grid was in place, K9 Turf® Premier was laid directly on top. The turf was secured using galvanized nails for maximum strength, with all joins fixed using specialist tape and adhesive. Edges were carefully bevelled and bolster-nipped to create a clean, seamless finish against the surrounding surfaces.
