K9 Turf is a grass specially made for dogs; its drainage system is perfect for animals for many different reasons. The specially designed backing of K9 turf works unlike latex backed grasses, K9 Turf has a rapid flow,woven backing which allows moisture to drain through the entire backing, without needing to search for drainage holes. This Pro Flow system works in tandem with the Zeolite Infill and Bio-Enzyme cleaner to actively combat the build-up of pet waste.
The installation system
Stage one
-having a good Ground Base to avoid dips/sinking.
-digging out existing base (if needed)
-removing existing turf
-water based weed killer
Stage two
Laying the groundworks system which is a combination of layers including 20mm hardcore & a 6mm clean limestone paired together to aid the K9 Turfs drainage.
Stage three
Installing the turf, which is a 5 pick layer, heavy gauge woven material, heavy duty grass yarn which is why it is great for pets. The Grass is the key part to a K9 installation & getting your garden to its full potential, perfect for your dogs & no more pet urine odours.
Stage four
The bio enzyme cleaner is a daily cleaner for the lawn which also eliminates bacteria and odour for the lawn.
Latex Grass
The grasses are safe for children and pets which makes it an ideal solution for domestic lawns however we wouldn’t recommend latex if you are a dog owner however latex grass is great for a wide variety other applications including swimming pool surrounds, roof terraces, patios, balconies, promotional areas, and sports pitches to mention just a few. Look out for grasses with the "WOW" factor, these special grasses have special shaped yarns which spring back to their original shape when walked upon making them ideal for areas with high footfall.
The difference within the installation of the grasses is when latex backing grass is installed, we use a layer of membrane on top of the granite dust & hardcore this is used to stop weeds etc. Growing up through the grass acting as a material form zeolite.

Therefore the difference between the grasses is the installation as well as the grass itself as k9 turf just has a more heavy duty yarn and an easier drainage system backing,K9 turf is just better suited to dogs and other animals within the household as it is designed better to take away the odour of pet urine and massively minimises discolouration you would get on natural grass it is also a better option if there are both children and animals using the lawn as it takes away the toxins left by the pets as long as the grass is maintained as advised. However latex grass is a fantastic option for non-dog owners it is still great for both children & adults to enjoy all year round & is the percent solution to freshen up
