Famed as a low maintenance alternative to the natural stuff, easy to clean artificial grass is perfect if gardening isn’t your top priority. Although it requires little to no maintenance there are a few things you can do to keep it looking great all year round. Here’s our top tips on how to clean artificial grass.
1. A good old hose pipe
A simple hose down every few weeks is the trick to keeping your lawn looking green. Over time, dust, leaves and other garden debris can build up making the grass appear dull. To keep it looking vibrant, take a hose pipe and give it a good spray clean. We recommend you do this once every two to four weeks.
2. A soft rake
Be cautious when raking leaves on your artificial grass as sharp, abrasive prongs can cause damage to the grass blades. Choose a plastic rake where possible and don’t be overzealous when raking – go gently and your grass will be fine.
3. A garden brush
Again, choose a brush with softer bristles which will gently sweep the blades. Giving your grass a good brush every two weeks will keep it looking fresh and clean. This will also prevent a buildup of leaves and unsightly garden debris.
4. Clean artificial grass with the correct chemicals
A key selling point for artificial grass is that it requires no harmful chemicals or pesticides. Installed correctly, the grass will withstand any weeds and stay in great shape without the need for weed killer.
